Sir David Lyndsay

Sir David Lyndsay (c. 1486–1555) was the last major Scottish Makar and a foundational figure in Scottish drama. His works, like Ane Satire of the Thrie Estaitis, used medieval allegory and vernacular Middle Scots to deliver powerful political and anti-clerical satire, earning him the critical label of a 'pre-Reformer' who paved the way for the Scottish Reformation.
